Colour Coded Ownership
To put Seamless3d into color ownership a Part or TransferOwnership type node
must be selected before clicking:
When seamless is in color ownership mode the ownership control panel will be
open:
Seamless will remain in color ownership mode untill a node that is not a Part or
TransferOwnership type node is selected or when the Color Ownership control
panel is closed.
Color ownership mode allows us to see who owns the vertices and
control points (in the case of nurbs control point animation) by asocatating
colors with parts. Seamless has preset colors for some common part names but the user is free to change the colors and associate colors
with any number of names. The color/part associations are saved to the settings
file so are remembered for next time you open seamless.
The color ownership control panel displays the color codes for the groups of
vertices/control points the selected part owns in the form of rectanular color
cells.
Any group can be selected by clicking on the coresponding cell
The
insert button inserts a new group in front of the selected group.
The
delete button deletes the selected group but note every part will contain at least one group so it is impossible to delete a group if only 1 exists.
The
coords field displays the number of vertex coordinates owned by the selected group.
The
weight field displays the weight of the group (how much it rotates the full amount). It can range anything from 0 to 1, 1 equaling the full amount of the part's rotation field.
When the
autoWeightDivide checkbox is ticked the weight fields are automatically calculated and is generally best left ticked.
The color buttons
are used for modifying the color code of the selected group.
The number you see after the word
group in the control panel's title bar is simply the index of the group.
